Mo Gesualdi wins coach of the year.
Scottsdale, Ariz. (August 6, 2024) – Monique “Mo” Gesualdi, PGA and LPGA Director of Instruction at St. Johns Golf & Country Club in St. Augustine, Florida, has been named “2024 Troon Coach of the Year” by Troon’s Education and Player Development team. Gesualdi oversees the golf instruction program at The Golf Academy at St. Johns while coaching juniors, women and men to reach their highest potential by getting their mind, body and swing all working together.

Junior golf at St. Johns
Our instructors have developed a series of clinics for golfers of all levels. Clinics are available for as young as kindergarten through high school, from never holding a club to those looking to build their skills for tournaments. Our PGA certified instructors are passionate about the game of golf and enjoy sharing that with the next generation of golfers
Welcome2Golf
3.5 million people tried the game of golf last year. Now it’s your turn! Classes begin January 2 and are available 7 days a week and at multiple times throughout the day. Golf Programs at St. Johns

Junior Academy
Foundations provides beginner juniors ages 4-7 with basic golf skills, fun activities, and an introduction to the game.
- $30/session or $99/month
- Ages 5-9
Birdies offers fundamental skill development and an introduction to competitive concepts. This program is ideal for elementary juniors ready to progress toward more structured play.
(Tuesdays 3:30-6:00 pm)
- Daily, Monthly, & Six-month pricing available
- Ages 11 & Under
Eagles is a fun, welcoming program for beginners ages 10-15 to build a strong foundation in the game and the next class to step-into after “Birdies.” Juniors learn core skills in full swing, short game, and on-course play through engaging drills and game-based learning.
(Mondays and/or Wednesdays 4:00-7:00 pm)
- Daily, Monthly, & Six-month pricing available
- Ages 10 -15
Aces is a flexible, two-day-a-week program perfect for golfers who want a balance of technical practice and on-course experience. This program is ideal for beginner to intermediate Middle or High-Schoolers.
- Ages 12-14
- $649 per month ($749 month-to-month)
Albatross is a three-day-a-week program that focuses on skill development, on-course play, workouts, and TPI training. It’s ideal for middle or high schoolers looking to advance their game with a well-rounded training schedule.
- $848/month with six -month commitment ($949 month-to-month)
College Prep is available Monday-Friday and designed for committed middle and high school golfers aiming to play competitively in high school and college. It includes advanced skill training, on-course play, workouts, and TPI training to prepare players for the next level.
- $1049/month with a six-month commitment ($1149 month-to-month)
Tour Prep Program is the premier training pathway at The Golf Academy at St. Johns, designed for home school and online students, college players, aspiring professionals, and elite amateurs.

Academy Policies and Standards
Golf Academy Schedule
The Golf Academy at St. Johns follows the St. Johns County School Calendar and does not have scheduled academy classes on national holidays.
- Programming: Based on sessions per month. Classes must be utilized within the given month and do not roll over.
- Afternoon Academy Programming: Runs throughout the school year, beginning at 4:00 PM Monday through Thursday. Classes typically end at 7:00 PM or at dusk during the winter months.
Cancellations - Weather or Uncontrollable Events: Make-up classes may be offered but are not required.
- Coach Absences: Due to sickness, travel, or vacation, make-up classes may be offered, or another instructor may substitute.
- Academy Afterschool Semesters: Run from August-December and January-May. Note: The Junior Golf Membership at St. Johns will be replaced by the new Student Membership effective 7/1/2024. Please contact Janelle Zenner at jzenner@stjohnsgolf.com for Membership questions.
- Month-to-Month Membership: Will not include a Student Golf Membership. Disenrolling and re-enrolling will require the new $250 Student Golf Membership enrollment fee. Students are encouraged to utilize this membership to practice and play independently when no classes or academy dates are scheduled.
Parents
- Drop-off and Pick-up: From the Clubhouse area. Staff will escort all students to and from the Academy.
- Closed Sessions: All practices and private lesson sessions are closed to visitation and outside attendees. The Bridge at St. Johns is available for those waiting while the Academy is in session.
- Coach Availability: Coaches will be unavailable for individual counseling during academy sessions. Outside meetings may be scheduled before or after practice. Thank you for respecting our instructors’ time and space to coach.
Program Change Notices
- Programming Changes or Terminations: Must be communicated in writing a minimum of 30 days prior to the next month starting. For cancellation or downgrading program, requests to be processed by the end of the month must be received in writing no later than 30 days prior to the end of the month. Any notice received after the 30-day window will be prorated to fulfill the 30-day policy.
Coaches’ Right to Refuse Service
Reasons for Termination: May include but are not limited to: a mismatch in goals, values, or expectations, or if the coach believes the client or their parent(s) are not the right fit to help the client with their specific needs.
Termination of Instruction: Instructors and coaches reserve the right to terminate instruction and programming with a client or a client’s parents at any point in time. If a coach/instructor feels conditions or behavior from the client are not in line with established standards or if the coaching will not be effective, they reserve the right to refuse service to a potential or active client.
