St. Johns Golf & Country Club Named ‘Facility of the Year’ by Billy Casper Golf

(ST. AUGUSTINE, FL) – St. Johns Golf & Country Club – managed by Billy Casper Golf (BCG) – was named “Facility of the Year” for 2010 during the company’s annual conference at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, FL.

St. Johns earned the award as the facility – among more than 120 in the BCG portfolio – with the best all-around service, operations, agronomic and business performance.  The club also embodies the BCG vision of treating each member and guest to a fun and enjoyable experience.

“This is a tremendous honor for St. Johns,” says Dan Zimmer, General Manager of St. Johns.  “Member and guest loyalty is at an all-time high because our team consistently delivers a upscale product.”

A Clyde Johnston-designed course located just north of St. Augustine, St. Johns is a gem that attracts golfers from across the southeastern United States.  Carved out of a pine forest, the course is a great test for every skill level.  From the par-72, 7,236-yard championship tees, golfers occasionally face arduous wind patterns.

In 2009, St. Johns was designated a “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” by Audubon International for its high standards protecting the environment and preserving the natural heritage of golf.  According to Audubon International, St. Johns is one of a handful of courses in the Jacksonville area to achieve certification, joining the elite TPC Sawgrass, Amelia Island Plantation, The Palencia Club and Bent Creek Golf Course.
